n 2014, Alphaworks was born out of the Betaworks studio with the simple idea of allowing anyone to invest in the companies they love. In expanding this idea, six companies joined their platform with the pioneering concept of having a company’s community as owners with this group being later defined by the addition of seven leading VC firms and hundreds of people seeking to invest in these companies. As more and more users sought to share in the experience and engage with Alphaworks platform for a front-row seat at innovation, their next chapter was unveiled in Quire.
The new brand name has a layered meaning, literally. Quire is an 800 year old word meaning sheets of paper, stacked then folded to make a section or folio to be bound to one another to form a book, creating a story that lasts for ages. It is a word of strength, unity, boldness and invention that is brought online with Quire.com.
Quire.com will give users the opportunity to invest in promising companis along side some fo the world’s best venture capital firms.
